For
those who are hopelessly addicted there is hope. Victory Outreach
has over 350 live-in homes where addicts are delivered from a life
of substance abuse. There are as many as 10,000 addicts in our
drug programs at any one time.
And the numbers are growing. Why? We believe that to be effective we
have to get to the heart of the problem. To overcome a physical
addiction a person must discover mental and spiritual freedom. Our
program includes an intensive rebuilding of what was often destroyed
from earliest childhood. Our residential in-patient treatment
facility is free of charge to the general public for those who
cannot afford the high costs of drug and alcohol recovery.
A drug
user is often being used by his environment. That's why we first get
them off the street and into our home. An addict has to get out
before he or she can get clean. Once in the home, the addict begins
an intensive one year program that restores the whole person. We
don't replace drugs with synthetic prescriptions. It may be tough
love to go cold turkey, but through our intensive support thousands
have kicked their habit. Our program continues with a rigorous daily
discipline of personal study, preparing meals, group discussions and
even community service. The people who run the programs know it's
not an easy road, because many of them are ex-addicts themselves.
Yet through their tough-love, compassion and support, we've seen
tremendous results. Last year alone over 25,000 addicts went through
our program. Over 70% kicked drugs permanently.
The
Victory Outreach Christian Recovery Home is a ministry of the local church.
The Home provides a residential Christian environment for men and women.
The purpose of the Home is to reclaim, redeem and restore lives that have
been destroyed or disrupted by drugs, alcohol and/or substance abuse by
establishing three essential values:
A commitment to Christ,
restoration of the family and a positive work ethic.
